Residents' green charter

Birchway's residents' green charter will be one of the first resident-focused initiatives launched by Paradigm to encourage the new occupants to 'buy into' a better, greener way of living.

Importantly, the charter is a guidance document, not a rule book. As a responsible landlord, we can't dictate how people should lead their lives - but we can encourage them by highlighting the many reasons for greener living being good for them and for the environment. The Birchway charter will be created in conjunction with our residents - we'll discuss ideas and if there is a consensus of agreement, they'll be included in a charter which we will hope everyone will sign up to.

The development of Birchway's green charter will evolve over the next few months. It will encompass many aspects of people's lifestyles - from how they travel to how they purchase their weekly shopping. Simple ideas which will go towards Birchway remaining near carbon neutral. It's a challenge... it will be difficult... but we are committed to making Birchway so different to any other community in West London.
